A care guide in plain words
What needs checking before treatment?
Ask who prepared the medicine, who can explain its instructions, and who will help if something goes wrong.
Trace the medicine's preparation
Know who prepared it
Compounded medicine is made to order. The Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, says an online service may leave people unsure who actually prepared their medicine.
Poor preparation can put germs into medicine, leave too little of its working ingredient, or leave too much of that ingredient.
The Illinois rule checked September 28, 2026 requires pharmacies outside the state to hold an Illinois licence before shipping prescription medicine to residents.
Questions about injection measurements
Get the instructions explained
The September 26, 2026 record includes harm reports received by FDA, including hospital stays, linked to errors in measuring compounded semaglutide injections.
Take unclear instructions to the person prescribing the medicine or to the pharmacy. Ask them to explain your medicine label. Do not rely on an online calculator or chart to turn one way of measuring medicine into another.
As the medicine arrives
Storage belongs to the product
Peptide products do not share a universal storage rule; instructions differ by medicine.
FDA says not to use an injectable weight medicine delivered warm or with too little refrigeration, if that product requires refrigeration.
Ask the pharmacy about the arrival condition, storage instructions, and what to do if delivery goes wrong.
Before agreeing to the plan, ask how to get help between visits and who handles a concern about the medicine.
