A care guide in plain words
What am I paying for?
Ask for a written total that separates visits, medicine, tests, and delivery. Then ask what that total becomes after any opening offer.
Within the pen offer's limits
A dated cash-price example
This example is for semaglutide (Ozempic) injection pens. A pen is a device that contains the medicine and is used to give the injection.
The September 26, 2026 price check found an offer of $199 per monthly supply for the first two supplies.
The offer was for new patients living in the US who were aged 18 or older and paid outside insurance. It ran through December 31, 2026. A pen's strength is the amount of medicine given in an injection. The offer was limited to the two lowest strengths.
After those first two supplies, the September 26, 2026 check quoted $349 or $499 per month. The highest pen strength in that offer cost $499. The other listed strengths cost $349. Ask which price applies to the medicine prescribed for you.
Paying outside insurance is called self-pay. These offer terms do not allow you to ask your insurer to repay the cost. They also do not let this payment count toward your insurance deductible. A deductible is what you pay before your insurance begins to pay.
Is that the complete bill?
Compare the same bill
There is no single price for peptide care. Your payment through insurance may differ from a cash offer. The maker publishes a price before discounts; that is the list price. It is not necessarily the amount you would pay.
Ask for the cost of the exact product and form being proposed. Keep the visit fee separate. Check whether a test or refill changes the total.
Membership terms behind the total
Read the recurring terms
A monthly membership fee may be separate from the medicine bill. That was common among the few large online care services checked September 26, 2026. Those advertised offers do not tell us the price of care in Chicago.
Ask when payments repeat, how to end the plan, what a refund covers, and whether a refill is included. Get those terms before making a payment.
Compare a price only after you know what is included and the length of time it covers.
